Zamboanga

Howdy? It's sunday today and im here in Cebu. I was out of town for a week coz i had training in Zamboanga. Let me tell you what happened to me in Zambo. A lot of people are scared of going to zambo especially the manilenos, simply because Basilan is just 45mins away via fast craft. When i arrived zamboanga, i was thinking that i will only be in my hotel for a week. My mom even texted me not to go out alone. The training was also in the hotel since we don't have office there yet. But i was wrong, Monday night, i had dinner with one of the agents in iloilo who happens to be there. Tuesday night i was out again with the branch manager of Davao, wednesday night we had dinner again for a bit and friday night i was out again. Just to be safe, i was never out alone. Medyo takot din ako coz even the locals said to be sure, don't go out alone. Nyay! But here is what i can say about Zamboanga. It is a nice, quiet place. What i noticed also was the side streets, it was clean, and there are plenty of banks in zambo, only means that people there have money. Locals are fluent in tagalog so i didnt have a difficult time communicating with them. There are so many places that you can go to. Food is really inexpensive. I was eating tuna belly, crabs and shrimps which i seldom ate in coz it's too pricey in Manila. I think i gained 5 lbs. coz the seafood was just so yummy, and ang mura talaga grabe. They also have what they called barter wherein you can buy malongs, chocolates and muslim items (hehehe) which is imported from Malaysia by the way. The fruits are also cheap. The managers gave me mangosteen and santol. Grabe sarap sa zamboanga. Contrary to what the people think about zambo, i would have to say that it is a nice and quiet place. Just be careful with the muslims, coz still, you never know if they're members of Abu sayaff...hahahaha

Thanks May...

Its saturday afternoon here in Cebu and its raining cats and dogs. My week was ok, i had fun because my co-worker/ friend May went here to Cebu for a 2 day training. Thank God i was also in town. She arrived tuesday night and stayed here till friday morning. I slept in her hotel and we're always out every night. I feel happy coz finally may kasama na din ako during yosi breaks and pag breakfast, lunch and dinner. May is such a sweet friend. Grabe wala kaming ginawa kundi tumawa at mamintas ng taong nakikita naming kakaiba. Hehehe!
Too bad friday morning she had to fly back to Manila. Reality bites na naman, that i am alone again. Her last night here in Cebu, thursday, we went to Tops together with sir glenn, one of the agents here in sunlife Cebu. He was accommodating enough to bring us there. Overlooking Cebu city yung place and quite popular sa mga taga manila, na pag Cebu ang place, unang tatanungin is kung nakapunta ka na sa Tops. Its a 30minute drive from the city, kinda scary pa yung road coz paakyat talaga ng mountain. It was raining pa that time. It was worth it naman, mejo may kamahalan lang ang entrance and their food. We stayed there mga 20minutes lang coz it was freezing cold. But it was worthit, overlooking Cebu city talaga. Mas lalo ata akong nagkasakit coz we didnt know na ganon kalamig don, kaya we decided to leave right away.
I had on and off fever for 3 nights now. I hope i will be ok soon coz i am leaving for zamboanga tomorrow for another 1 week training. I cant afford to be sick coz wala akong reliever. Its going to be my first time in Zambo, they say its a nice place, sana lang safe no, mejo malapit ata ito sa Basilan. That's it for now, still have to pack my stuff... Later!

Bored...

I often ask myself what I really wanted to do with my life. I know that i am blessed to have this job but lately i keep asking myself if this is what i really wanted to do. I am here in Cebu, alone. I terribly miss home...my family in manila and my close friends. Spending weekend here in Cebu is really sad. I always think of home. I even asked myself if my family or my friends misses me too. I feel like crying, but im trying to hold back the tears. Minsan, im wishing that my mom and Charlene are here with me, i am even wishing that my bestfriend, Val would visit me soon. Even hoping that she finds a work here so we can be together. But she's got a life of her own. Hay, I cant wait for June 2008 to come so i can go back home.
This week i spent my monday and tuesday in cebu, i had my training. Wednesday i traveled to tagbilaran for another 2-day training. I went back cebu saturday afternoon. Im getting really exhausted of too much traveling. But i can't complain because this is what i do for a living, my friends would even envy me because of the perks of my job. Don't get me wrong, i thank God everyday for giving me this blessing.
I arrived Cebu 5pm yesterday, i went to the mall to pay my smart bro bill and went to supermarket too. I went home and cooked my dinner, the usual pansit canton and corned beef. I slept quite late coz im thinking of so many things. Today, sunday, i woke up 8am, drank my coffee, took a bath and heard mass. After mass i went to ayala mall and bought lunch, i ate it here at home. One thing i learned since i got here in cebu is to eat by myself. I used to tell myself that i would never do that, but what the heck, i got no choice. Sigh!
I spent my afternoon surfing the net, smoking, trying to sleep and watching tv. My cellphone never beeped. I got 2 messages this am from my student in negros whom i find weird. Anyways, i texted my mom and asked her how they are. Glad theyre ok.
As for my bestfriend Val, she seldoms text and she's always been like that. But i really do miss her. I know she's happy now, and i'm also happy for her.
This week, my close friend May will be having her training here in Cebu, good thing i am in town. She will be here for 3 nights. I plan to stay with her in her hotel. We will go out everynight. I can't wait to see and spend time with her.
That's it for now. I guess i will just watch tv and try to entertain myself...whew!
