Zamboanga

Howdy? It's sunday today and im here in Cebu. I was out of town for a week coz i had training in Zamboanga. Let me tell you what happened to me in Zambo. A lot of people are scared of going to zambo especially the manilenos, simply because Basilan is just 45mins away via fast craft. When i arrived zamboanga, i was thinking that i will only be in my hotel for a week. My mom even texted me not to go out alone. The training was also in the hotel since we don't have office there yet. But i was wrong, Monday night, i had dinner with one of the agents in iloilo who happens to be there. Tuesday night i was out again with the branch manager of Davao, wednesday night we had dinner again for a bit and friday night i was out again. Just to be safe, i was never out alone. Medyo takot din ako coz even the locals said to be sure, don't go out alone. Nyay! But here is what i can say about Zamboanga. It is a nice, quiet place. What i noticed also was the side streets, it was clean, and there are plenty of banks in zambo, only means that people there have money. Locals are fluent in tagalog so i didnt have a difficult time communicating with them. There are so many places that you can go to. Food is really inexpensive. I was eating tuna belly, crabs and shrimps which i seldom ate in coz it's too pricey in Manila. I think i gained 5 lbs. coz the seafood was just so yummy, and ang mura talaga grabe. They also have what they called barter wherein you can buy malongs, chocolates and muslim items (hehehe) which is imported from Malaysia by the way. The fruits are also cheap. The managers gave me mangosteen and santol. Grabe sarap sa zamboanga. Contrary to what the people think about zambo, i would have to say that it is a nice and quiet place. Just be careful with the muslims, coz still, you never know if they're members of Abu sayaff...hahahaha
