abroad

Long time no blogging. I just arrived from a 3-day training in Calbayog City, Samar. It was my 1st time to see the place and prior to me leaving Manila, I was hoping that the training will be cancelled and obviously my prayer was not answered. I had fun though because I met 2 interesting American guys from the US Navy. The other guy named John was staying in the hotel where I am staying. I already noticed him the moment I arrived the hotel because he was at the lobby and I thought he was just the typical “American” guy who’s looking for a Filipina wife. I spent my nights at the hotel lobby because of the free wifi. He was also there every night. My second night he finally had the guts to introduced his self to me. I was kind of scared at first, ewan ko ba takot ako sa mga kano na malalaking tao, hehe. But being the friendly Det that I am I asked him to seat beside me and we started talking. That’s when I found out that he is from the US Navy and they have a medical mission in Calbayog and he’s the over all in charge of everything. It was really interesting. We were chatting for 20 minutes and he said that my English sounds different and doesn’t sound like Filipino (thanks to my call center accent training, hahaha) I didn’t feel uncomfortable with him. He was fun to talk too and we ended up talking and eating together the following days. He kept me sane while I was in a remote area of Samar. Take note, magkatabi pa kami ng room, haha. Before you think of anything, he is already married and has a 5-year old son. Sayang nga eh, kasi I find him cute, kainis! Anyways I left yesterday and he and his troupe will be staying here till mid June because the mission will start next month. He gave me his business card and he wanted us to hang out when he goes to Manila after his medical mission in Samar. They will be staying at Mandarin Oriental. Too bad I will be in Bacolod by the time they are here. Kainis talaga….grrrr!!!!
It’s nice to meet interesting people whenever I travel. They keep me sane.
I am hoping to be back here in Manila for good because I am applying for job in Canada or USA. I know it is a long shot but I am willing to give it a try. I love my work but I wanted to earn more. Asia is not on my list. Ika nga namen ni Georgie, USA, Canada or UK lang kasi habol din namen ang weather, hehe. Everybody’s going to Singapore, ayoko dun, Asia pa din eh..hahaha
I will start fixing everything as soon as I go back here. I have pending applications and hopefully I will get a decent job in the USA or Canada.
